Tobias Lengkeek (1991) graduated last June at the The Royal Academy The Hague. In his paintings he tries to catch time: damaged or discarded objects once were new, by painting them he tries to reveal their history. Andrea Freckmann (1970) and Ronald Versloot (1964) both paint scenes that move between reality and a stage like setting. Freckmann shows uniformed men riding hobby horses carrying flags with Hurra written on them. This half ironically refers to the need to respond to the political turmoil in our current society. Versloot paints without using a brush: human figures are airbrushed in templates and put in landscapes. These are printed with paint first put on plastic sheets, using this technique he often mirrors the scenery as in Rorschach images.
