It is one of the declared missions of the Essl Museum to present young artists who are not yet established in the markets and put their output up for public debate. In an alternating schedule, the winter programme of the Museum always includes a focus on topical art production in its two series on emerging artists and the winners of the Essl Art Award CEE.The exhibition presents the great diversity of artistic perspectives in the CEE and provides a platform for an open cross-border discourse. What moves young artists, how do they cope with social, political and cultural shifts and sea changes? What role does their private life play for them? Will common, cross-boundary tendencies become apparent in the works produced by young artists in eight different cultural spheres in Europe? The show presents the works of the 16 winners of the ESSL ART AWARD CEE 2015, selected for the sixth time by an international jury including artists from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Roumania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey. All contemporary art media will be represented.Curators: Johanna Langfelder-Hain, Viktoria Tomek04.12.2015 – 06.03.2016Opening: 03.12.2015 ESSL MUSEUMContemporary ArtAn der Donau-Au 13400 Klosterneuburg / ViennaT: +43-(0)2243-370 50 150E: info@essl.museumTUE-SUN: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.WED: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.Monday closed, except on national holidays.
