David Rosetzky is one of the most original and inventive video artists working in Australia today. Informed by a finely tuned understanding of contemporary culture, Rosetzky's imagery - mesmerising in its beauty and refined theatricality - explores issues such as identity, the nature of relationships, and the potent role of the visual in our 21st-centuary world. This exhibition draws from fifteen years of Rosetzky's practice: videos, photographs, photo collages, and sculptures. In 2008, commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, Rosetzky made a video portrait of Australian actress Cate Blanchett. This important work is included in True Self. True Self is a Centre for Contemporary Photography and NETS Victoria touring exhibition curated by Naomi Cass and Kyla McFarlane.
