In my paintings a figure or image enters as an embellishment, illuminatingand accentuating the whole miliev depicted therein. Figureless painting is beyond my imagination. Although I am not averse to abstract art and there quite a few artists known for their abstract art I admire them, yet abstraction in not my forte. Rather, I believe, if the Figuration and abstraction, when intermingled meticulously, may create a far better aesthetic impression.
Painting for me, is a continual process of discovering a Form. I draw immense pleasure in indulging myself to go in quest for a Form that comes nearest to my hearfelt desire.
The artist in me always strives to strike a chord communication, a mental and emotional association with the forms I paint.
I allow a figure or Figures to come to the Surface of canvas, to emerge forward and assume a position. Mostly the situations are quite dramatic and then I expect the viewers to weave their own stories around those figures. In my playfulness, teasingly, I drop one or two dues to form the basis of such stories.
Juxta positioning of the images of man with animals, man with birds, heightens the intensity of the inseparable relationship evolved by man with his environment. I look at this relationship with grave analytical gesture. The Similar, dissimilar or the opposing creates a polarized view-point.
Through depiction of beauty I paint a picture in the eye of the viewers. Images beyond the real signifiers, thought content, emotive values, fun, mischief, humour and sarcasm, all of them are brought into play.
An artist gains popularity and earns recognition by following a particular path, by adopting a peculiar style But I believe for an artist real pleasure lies in facing unpredictable situations. An artist can feel the flow of force, the power of passion when any new and challenging style is adopted.
Life aspires and strives to recreate itself. Regeneration and continual evolution is the prime goal of life. This world is teeming with the thousands of species of birds, animals, insects over which human species rule. There is one governing phenomenon running through all these species, that is the act of love rules the entire living world. Hence love predominantly assumes a centre point in my paintings.
Moreover physical beauty has remained for me a source of endless aesthetic pleasure.
Artistic creativity is closely linked with the procreation of life and so, for me, the quest for seeking physical pleasure, through Sensual depiction of human or animal forms, has becomes the sole reason for me to continuing painting.
