FEDERICO GUERRERO ORTIZ
was born in Cali 12th of July 1977 and grew up between his origin country Colombia, Spain and Switzerland. Next to this multicultural life, many changes happened and gave him new perspectives. Some people learn by books, some only out of experiences. One of them is Federico with his individual way to learn and his struggle with the authorities.
Out of this way to life and learn, his paintings show many different vivences and feelings. Just mixing colors in his own way not respecting the way, which is told in art school, make his paintings so individual.
Federico started in his life many different careers but was never really interested in having a regular job or a regular profession. Therefore he started already in a young age of a teenager to travel around the world and started painting cartoons.
Later, he decided to learn more about techniques of painting, colors and art history and began to draw portraits.
At first hand it seemed to be exciting and new, but only to do what the teachers tell you started to become boring. So he went on with his studies, teaching by teaching himself. This was the way he discovered, that real creativity lies in breaking the rules of school.
His sensitivity and passion concerning ,,desires'', his experiments with new materials and his ups and downs in life are shown in all his paintings, which makes them extremely extraordinaire. His first exhibition took place in 2001 together with some other young artists in Madrid.
In 2005 he made his second art exhibition in kreuzlingen, Switzerland, at ,Schloss Seeburg'', a beautiful castle right next to the wonderful lake of Constance. What a big success! Grace to this, he was invited to show his artwork in Koeln in 2005, in 2006 it was Paris which was chosen to show his arts.
2007 was the year of changes: He had to change his life because of health reasons, a difficult change for an ancient party animal, he used to be. Struggling with this necessary change, he restarted painting in May 2008 and the fruits of this work we can admire now in this exhibition. His art in this exhibition shows therefore his reason to fight for a better life, getting better every day.
All the art you will see are the results of his decision for a better life. Thats why the name ,,Evolution'' was chosen for his exhibition an evolution in his life and also in his art.
