BFA Visual & Critical Studies and the Flatiron Project Space are pleased to announce a solo exhibition of recent works by Taylor Baker (BFA 2015 Visual & Critical Studies). Baker presents a series of stylized systems, investigating subjects such as form, function and phenomenology through elements of lax and levity. In pursuit of a state of equilibrium, these works demonstrate efforts to evoke or embody a sense of "otherness," while paradoxically composed of just such "otherness." Despite their discernible assemblage, these forms seem to neglect their own multiplicity and practicality, questioning their intentionality and the suggested nature of things.
