bb contemporary is managend by BB International Fine Arts GmbH (Switzerland) and provides gallery exhibition and art fair management for modern contemporary visual fine arts.
We represent international artists from working in all media (oil painting, graphics, photographs, lithographs, drawings, multi-dimensional objects, multimedia, prints) in Europe and worldwide. Our services offer exhibitions, art fairs, representation through our own galleries, publications, catalogue edition and cultural event management since 1972.
Established 1972 (originally "Gallery BB" in Kassel, Germany), the gallery produced shows of the great conceptual and performance artist
Joseph Beuys and other major figures of the Fluxus movement as well Documenta 5 and Documenta 6 artists. Its first events, 1976 - 1980, included Wolf Vostell, Tim Ulrichs, representatives of the Eastern European avant-garde (1970s) with Director Andrzej Ekwinski of the Warsaw Teatr Studio, Happenings and Fluxus, Mail Art (presented in the first European TV production by "Aspekte" / ZDF-German TV Channel and other broadcast stations).
In the late 1970s the gallery, in collaboration with Wiebenga Gallery in Lausanne, Switzerland, staged 20th Century Masters - From Renoir to Picasso, and in 1984 the first international art fair took place in Stockholm exhibiting selected works by Sonja Sekula, Georges Rouault and
Pablo Picasso">

The gallery broadened its range and in the years 1985 - 1990, evolved into staging international art trade shows and establishing a gallery in Cannes, France. The early 1990s brought new locations in Zurich and Lugano, Switzerland, with new projects including a new publication "The
New Artist" in 1997.
Known now as BB Contemporary, it established its headquarters in Switzerland and organized international exhibitions, also in collaboration and partnership with galleries in Barcelona, Washington D.C., Paris, Mannheim, Geneva, and Zurich.
