School of Visual Arts presents “Trading Places,” an exhibition of work by MFA Art Practice students. Curated by Jacquelyn Strycker, director of operations, MFA Art Practice, “Trading Places” is on view Friday, July 22, through Saturday, July 30, at the SVA Flatiron Gallery, 133/141 West 21st Street, New York City.School of Visual Arts presents “Trading Places,” an exhibition of work by MFA Art Practice students. Curated by Jacquelyn Strycker, director of operations, MFA Art Practice, “Trading Places” is on view Friday, July 22, through Saturday, July 30, at the SVA Flatiron Gallery, 133/141 West 21st Street, New York City.“A trade can refer to a transaction or to one’s craft in the sense that trading is both exchanging and making,” says Strycker. “The work in the exhibition considers how interchange and labor impact place, and explores the influence of migration, transition, memory and reciprocity on our environments.”Participating artists include Sarah Brewington, Kyle Browne, Todd Hainline, Tzirel Kaminetzky, Connor Kelly, Monika Lin, Qinmin Liu, Roma Pas, Benjamin Quesnel, Dee Solin, Christine Stiver and Grove Van Bern.MFA Art Practice is an expansive, low-residency interdisciplinary program of study founded on the belief that artists need not be defined by their use of materials or chosen platforms. The program offers experienced artists an opportunity to deepen their studio practice and to develop an advanced body of work under the guidance of some of the world’s foremost artists and critics in the heart of New York City’s Chelsea gallery district.
