Wild at Heart

(Saturday) (Monday)

Rostra Gallery delves into the natural world with new exhibition Wild at Heart. Showcasing new work from some of the UK’s most talented printmakers and renowned sculptors. The exhibition will take a look at some of the nations favourite animals and insects and celebrate the skill in which these artists work.

Sue Brown takes a look at some of our familiar birds and capturing them in quirky situations with the use of collagraph printmaking. Keep an eye out for a clever sewing Goldfinch or even a boisterous Budgie helping itself to a cup of tea! Jane Ormes has become well known for her vibrant use of colour and humorous screen-printed animals, her new work doesn’t disappoint with more colours than ever she has embraced the jungle and gone on the wild side. New sculpture from Simon Griffiths who is a master of direct observation and detail from Barn Owls to Gannet’s his work is truly amazing. Introducing Kit Boyd who joins Rostra Gallery with his intricate etchings that explore people’s relationship with the landscape and our place in nature and Devon based Vicky Lindo joins the gallery with a stunning selection of earthenware slip cast ceramics inspired by local pottery heritage, quirky creatures and the ever changing landscape.
