This spring exhibition at the Kunstfort, artists Zwakman and Bogaert zoom in to the specifics of the military landscape that is part of the Haarlemmermeerpolder.
The man-made, artificial Dutch landscape is reflected in the models the artists make. A new interpretation of what we see is made. Is this the picture of a landscape or is it a real landscape? Or is it the landscape as we want to see it, or how we want to experience it? Pragmatic and functional or maybe naturalistic and romantic, suitable for recreation despite of the busy airport Schiphol or because of the busy surroundings?
Zwakman is a master of illusion and he determines his models to the littlest detail. Bogaert is fascinated by the man-machine landscape with ingenious constructions that depict the big city and landscape as poetic.
