Art from Elsewhere: International Contemporary Art from UK Galleries

(Saturday) (Sunday)

An exhibition showcasing 19 international artists whose work was recently collected as part of the Art Fund International scheme. The scheme was launched in 2007 to enable five regional partnerships to collect international contemporary art, including the West Midlands partnership of Birmingham Museums, New Art Gallery Walsall and Ikon.

David Elliott, a curator of international stature, was invited to curate a personal selection from the collections and has discovered common themes, bringing together key works from the participating museums and galleries.

The exhibition considers themes of global change, postcolonial experiences and failed utopias.

Exhibition open 10.00am – 5.00pm Tuesday to Saturday except Fridays 10.30am - 5.00pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.

In the Waterhall Gallery. Free.

A Hayward Touring exhibition supported by the Art Fund.
