Arnaldo Pomodoro. Scenic spaces and other architectures
From September 20, 2014 CAOS (Centro Arti Opificio Siri) of Terni will host the exhibition Arnaldo Pomodoro. Scenic spaces and other architectures, promoted and organized by Regione Umbria and the Municipality of Terni, in collaboration with the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro.
The exhibition, curated by Antonio Calbi, will document fifty years of work between scenic spaces and architectures: from Greek tragedy to melodrama, from contemporary theater to music, through sculptures, models, sketches and drawings, as well as costumes and stage props. It will range from Kleist's Catherine of Heilbronn on the Lake of Zurich in 1972, to Emilio Isgro's Orestea trilogy by Aeschylus on the ruins of Gibellina staged between 1983 and 1985, to the classical performances at the Greek Theatre in Syracuse on May 2014.
If the first section of the exhibition will account for the reinvention of the scenic space, the second section will document some of the most significant architectural works and projects: from the project for the new cemetery of Urbino -unachieved- to the Sala d'Armi for the Poldi Pezzoli Museum of Milan, until to the environment Ingresso nel labirinto (Entrance in the labyrinth) that has taken shape in the underground of the former Riva Calzoni building in via Solari in Milan, former exhibition space of the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro.
Opening times: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-1pm and 4pm-7pm, closed on Monday.
