 About Artist

Works by William Eggleston mirror a deserted, degenerated world left to its own devices: things and people appear separated from their social contexts, released from their functions in everyday life. His relevance as a classic in photography consists of the special treatment of color as a creative level of meaning of photography. Eggleston produced an aesthetic of strangeness, whereby a psychological moment is usually inherent in the color, grown from the attempt to dissect perception: “I have often asked myself, what other creatures see - whether they see as we do. I have tried to take a lot of different photographs that look as if they had not been taken by humans.”
