Saskia Joosse is currently the owner and Managing Director of Pop and Contemporary Fine Art. Saskia’s family, who in the past were patrons of the arts as well as being actively involved in the industry, initiated and encouraged her to further develop her passion.
Saskia grew up surrounded by sculptures, paintings and other various art forms. She was fortunate enough to start her collection almost at birth, when numerous artists bestowed art work to her family as gifts, to celebrate her birth, baptism and birthdays thereafter.
Fuelled by her desire to expand her own collection, these relationships helped Saskia to start brokering art, which she has now being doing for well over a decade.
Saskia’s approach is to try and give her customer;s the bespoke service that she would expect herself as a customer and to try and demystify the potential rigours of buying fine art. Having lived in Australia, South Africa, USA, Mexico and France and having spent the last 12 years in Asia has helped form and mould her views and perspective on art collecting.
In 2008 with the encouragement of her friends, family and clients she founded Pop and Contemporary Fine Art in order to assist others in the highly addictive, yet highly rewarding world of art. Saskia still looks to add to her own personal collection, drawing upon her accumulated experience throughout the years and putting into practice what she preaches.
Saskia also writes and gives talks about the arts as well as offering an art placement and allocation service, which allows clients to find the best manner in which to showcase their artwork in any environment.
