In spite of his great talent as a draftsman, Klee’s journey to painting and colour was a long process of artistic self-examination and highly experimental in nature. The exhibition from the collection allows the viewer to experience this exciting development with a large number of significant watercolours, glue paint drawings and oil paintings from the holdings of the Zentrum Paul Klee. Unusual painting utensils give a view of the highly varied techniques that the artist developed at every stage of his career. Klee loved experimenting with, and putting together, a great variety of artistic media, and was not only a visionary in his pictorial language.
