Extended! The retrospective of works by Walter
Pichler, spanning five decades, has been
extended until June 2017. Crossing the
boundaries between architecture, design,
and sculpture, Pichler (1936 Deutschnofen,
IT—2012 Vienna, AT) was one of
the most idiosyncratic artists of his time.
Starting with his early architectural utopias,
this exhibition continues through his
iconic Prototypes from the 1960s,
Pichler’s activities as a designer, and his
buildings dating from the mid-1970s
onwards. The exhibition reveals the topicality
of his work and how it has inspired
artists to this day.
