“These prints are inspired by recent paintings but after addressing formal issues such as colour, tone and line, they take on their own trajectories, qualities and personalities. It is therefore important to engage with the process to make the most of the opportunity to offer something fresh and beautiful.” – Gary Hume RA
This diverse collection of works by Gary Hume RA features three brand new editions made in the RA Schools, alongside a range of editions published over the past 18 years. Ambiguous and intriguing, Hume’s distinctive visual language explores a breadth of subject matter from flora and fauna to birds and the figure, with the resulting images often hovering between abstraction and figuration. A selection of these works will be showcased in an exhibition in the Keeper’s House from 16 February – 24 April 2017 and will be available to buy online through Art Sales at the RA from 16 February. Please contact artsales@royalacademy.org.uk to register your interest.
Find out more about the Own Art scheme, which allows buyers to spread the cost of the purchase of a limited edition or unique work in the Art Sales at the RA collection over 10 months with an interest free loan.
