With every choice we make, we lose the opportunity to make a different choice. When we turn left on East Avenue at 8:45PM we lose the opportunity to turn right or go straight on East Avenue at 8:45PM, because time doesn’t go backwards. It seems that from the day we were born our lives were propelled forward by a momentum based on the principles of choice, sacrifice and time. With each choice comes a sacrifice, and with each sacrifice the loss of an opportunity to have done something differently. While our own daily sacrifices may not be as noble as the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we end up sacrificing versions of ourselves to be who we are today; nail them to a cross and let them rot away with our memories, as we aspire to make more choices and sacrifices in the coming days.
