"Tongue Kiss" (舌吻)

Liu Dao

The word kiss comes from the Old English word cyssan. There are two camps of thought regarding how kissing came into existence. The first argue that it must have come about intuitively through acts of passion and romance. The second argue that it developed from “kiss feeding”, the process by which a mother will occasionally feed her babies in nature. Evidence of kissing (in the way we now think of it) goes back about 3,500 years to its first mention in the Hindu epicMahabharata. There are many types of kisses, but the tongue kiss, also known as the French kiss, is the most intimate and passionate of the bunch. It is, of course, when (usually) two people connect lips and extend their tongues into each other’s mouths and then move them around, often insinuating and precipitating sexual activity. This insinuation is in fact how the kiss got its name during the beginning of the 20th century at a time when the French had an adventurous and passionate sexual reputation. Maybe they’ll rename it after whatever country you’re from if you kiss good enough.
