The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition

(Thursday) (Tuesday)

This August, Agora Gallery is delighted to present the Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition, a collection of work selected by a jury of industry experts in the 31st annual Chelsea International Fine Art Competition. The outstanding participants hail from all over the world and represent an incredible range of style and medium. Sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, and mixed media are all included.

Some pieces employ minimalist techniques to explore texture and form, particularly in regards to negative space. Some revel in bright colors and the creation of dense jungles of detail. Still others deconstruct the human figure and interrogate the meaning of our self-representation. An innovative photographer produces searing emotional portraits. A new kind of landscape shows plants in intimate close-up. Each chosen artist gives us a different temperament, a different visual language. Most importantly, every artist in this exhibition offers a unique slice of modernity.

The exhibition opens on August 11th and will run until August 23rd, 2016. The opening reception will take place Thursday, August 11th, from 6-8 PM. Admission is free.
