The Spring Thing: Modern Mutiny

(Friday) (Friday)

The Spring Thing is the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s annual young patrons fundraiser. Not your average benefit, guests will enjoy an unconventional evening full of live music, craft cocktails, dinner in the galleries, bites throughout the evening, and surprises all night long.

The Spring Thing: Modern Mutiny is inspired by Los Angeles-based contemporary artist Marnie Weber's Sailing at Sunset, from MCASD's permanent collection. Chaired by Touradj Barman and Sarah Kaplan, and Matt Hoyt and Allison Bell Hoyt, this year's benefit pays homage to the rebellious spirit of contemporary art. Your voyage begins with an exclusive cocktail reception followed by a family-style chef's dinner inside the Museum's galleries, featuring curated rum cocktail pairings by local craft hooch distillers, Malahat Spirits Co. You'll be dining on the same hallowed ground graced by some of this century's best artwork. Following dinner, cruise into The Late Night Party where you'll enjoy hosted cocktails, local bites, and a killer lineup of musical acts.

Tickets for The Cocktail Hour and The Dinner Party are $150 for MCASD Avant Garde Members, and $175 for non-members. The Late Night Party tickets are $50.
