Kapsch Contemporary Art Prize 2016

In 2016 for the first time Kapsch AG and mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien will award the Kapsch Contemporary Art Prize for young artists mainly living and working in Austria. The prizewinner will be decided in the course of the Kapsch Contemporary Art Challenge and will be able to hold a first show for an international audience. In addition to prize money of EUR 5,000, the winner will present his or her work in a solo exhibition in fall 2016 and in an accompanying publication. The Kapsch Group will also purchase a work by the winner for the mumok collection.Ten international art experts will suggest twenty young artists who may apply for the prize. A jury chaired by mumok director Karola Kraus, and consisting of Georg Kapsch, CEO of the Kapsch Group, Eva Birkenstock, curator at Kunsthaus Bregenz, Yilmaz Dziewior, director of the Museum Ludwig, and Stephanie Weber, curator for contemporary art at the Lenbachhaus Munich, will select the Kapsch Contemporary Art Prize prizewinner from among all the applicants in spring 2016.
