The Weather. Sunshine, lightning and cloudbursts

(Friday) (Sunday)

The weather dictates whether we arrive at work on time, go for a walk at the weekend or plan a boat trip during the holidays. Thanks to the very latest technology, weather forecasts are accessible within seconds around the clock. The exhibition at the National Museum demonstrates the process from observation to forecasting. It tells of weather and climate phenomena, of weather saints and weather proverbs, and displays early cloud photographs. It also poses questions about the future of our planet's climate. Short-range weather forecasts can be produced in a weather lab, and visitors can personally cause a storm in a cloud box. And every Sunday meteorologists, climatologists and other experts from MeteoSwiss will provide information on weather phenomena and on collecting data for forecasts, and will answer questions about the wind and the rain.
