Fourth Plinth Shortlist Exhibition

(Tuesday) (Sunday)

See the shortlisted proposals for the 2018 and 2020 Fourth Plinth commissions

Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth has been home to world-class contemporary sculpture since 1998, when the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) commissioned three works for the once empty space. The Mayor of London established the Fourth Plinth Commission to build upon its success.

Following the unveiling of David’s Shrigley’s ‘Really Good’, the shortlisted proposals for the next two commissions will be unveiled in January 2017, when the public will be invited to have their say on the commission for 2018 and 2020.
